More than 100 pit bulls were adopted out by Denver Animal Shelter in 2020

Gumdrop, renamed Odin by his family, was the first pit bull adopted out by the city last January. The city’s animal shelter was able to adopt them out after voters effectively legalized the breed. A lot of people could cross into the country if Title 42 is repealed. The city is moving cots to shelters in case that happens.

It’s out there to help you and closed mouths don’t get fed. Don’t be afraid or deterred,” said one of The Reserves’ new residents.

Though he is sexy as hell and GREAT with people, he does have to be the only pet in the home. I mean c’mon, what other animal would want to live with him? Many worry about the potential closures’ effect on vulnerable students, and feel left out of the process. Superintendent Alex Marrero says this time around, community engagement was different.
